Malcolm McLean is the founder of MGM Construction Calculations.

​

The company was established to address a common challenge observed across years of on-site experience: the significant time and effort contractors invest in preparing estimates. MGM Construction Calculations delivers precise exterior and interior measurements directly from construction drawings, enabling painting contractors, floor contractors and more - to focus on securing projects and managing their businesses rather than spending time doing manual number-crunching.

Malcolm has been immersed in the renovation industry since 2007, working hands-on as a subtrade in finishing work, drywall, painting, tile setting, flooring installation, and light carpentry. This practical background highlighted the critical importance of accurate measurements and the expensive consequences of errors when quantities fail to match reality.

To complement this field expertise, Malcolm completed the Construction Estimating and Bid Preparation Certificate at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in Calgary, Alberta, in 2023.

Today, MGM Construction Calculations combines real-world trade knowledge with formal estimating training to provide reliable, trustworthy measurements that contractors can depend on.
